Trophy size trout still swim in our rivers and streams, moose, elk and deer continue to graze on our plains and mountains, just as they have for thousands of years.

The motel is situated overlooking Meeteetse and the Greybull River basin with  views of the Absaroka Mountain range. See the country where the cattle barons and outlaws once ruled.

Meeteetse has a very colorful history. Meeteetse is a Shoshoni Indian word which means "meeting place". Want to come for one of the most relaxing or exciting vacations you'll ever have? Well Meeteetse is the place for you. Take a hike, horseback ride or mountain bike trip on trails varying in difficulty.  Four wheel drive or just high clearance vehicle trips to the Ghost Town of Kirwin.  Fishing the Greybull River, the Wood River or the Sunshine reservoirs is fantastic anytime of year.  Snowmobiling or cross country skiing the Wood River valley is outstanding, depending on the snow fall.   We are located near some of the best hunting in the state for the magnificent Wapiti (Elk), Deer (White Tail or Mule deer), Mountain Lion, Black Bear, Big Horn Sheep or Antelope.

This is the real West as it was yesterday, where you can see deer and antelope at play, cattle grazing and eagles soaring.

People like Amelia Earhart  and the notorious Butch Cassidy have enjoyed the sage scented clean air, crystal clear nights, incredible scenery and genuine western hospitality that earmarks Meeteetse.

Stay at the Vision Quest Motel in Meeteetse and smell the clean, sage scented air, and marvel at stars so bright you can almost touch them. Meeteetse is the west at its best!
